History (Google Ad Revenue Issue):

VeriPoll was established by a few engineers after great disappointment in the way the media covered the 2016 presidential election. Highly incorrect, mainstream polls and predictions led to the birth of VeriPoll. Our mission is an honest, transparent, unbiased opportunity for all to have their voices heard.

VeriPoll BETA went live June 3, 2020, and grew much faster than anticipated. This quick growth caused Google to flag VeriPoll on June 14, 2020 as having "invalid traffic concerns", and they limited our ad revenue and put VeriPoll under review that can take over 30 days.

Due to ads, being limited, VeriPoll brings in less than $1.50 a week, and this is not enough to keep business running. Please consider donating to our cause.

Future Goals and Costs:

Scientific Sampling Projects:

  • VeriPoll is working hard to gain traction and validity to compete with the mainstream media polls. We have heard feedback that until VeriPoll gets distributed by more groups, the ongoing open polling method may not closely reflect the American public. Therefore, we are working with experts to come up with new scientific polls in order to have a chance to be included as a source in the 2020 Election Debates. The ongoing open poll will still run and update as usual, but the new polls will consist of Random selection based on the demographics and sample size of the 2016 Exit Polls as well as the polls being considered for the 2020 Election Debates.

    • Online Selection - Small Scientific Sample: A small sample of 500 (estimated) registered voters and people able to be registered by the November 3rd election. Poll will include all candidates on our ballot, and selection will be made via email campaigns and survey platforms that have the ability to provide demographics which match the 2016 Exit Polls as well as the polls being considered for the 2020 Election Debates (race, age, gender, rural/urban, income, etc). Since 500 is a small sample, we will not be able to break this down into state or electoral level.

    • Online Selection - Large Scientific Sample: A sample of 5000 (estimated) registered voters and people able to be registered by the November 3rd election. Poll will include all candidates on our ballot, and selection will be made via email campaigns and survey platforms that have the ability to provide demographics which match the 2016 Exit Polls as well as the polls being considered for the 2020 Election Debates (race, age, gender, rural/urban, income, etc). This sample is a larger, and we will be able to provide a good picture with about 100 data points per state. Therefore, we will be able to present and break this down into state or electoral level.

    • Mailing Campaign - Scientific Selection: A sample of 5000 (estimated) registered voters and people able to be registered by the November 3rd election. Poll will include all candidates on our ballot, and selection will be made via USPS political mail campaign to match the 2016 Exit Polls as well as the polls being considered for the 2020 Election Debates (race, age, gender, rural/urban, income, etc). This sample is a larger, and we will be able to provide a good picture with about 100 data points per state. Therefore, we will be able to present and break this down into state or electoral level. Physical mail will be a more traditional polling method that would allow us to reach a more traditional voter base.

Goals for Improvement:

  • VeriPoll staff is currently not getting any Salary. Therefore, all staff have other jobs to cover the cost of living. Each staff member puts over 25 hours a week into VeriPoll on top of their other jobs and personal life. We would like to put more effort into routine verification, social media posts, and result updates. A $24,000 yearly salary is being proposed for our 3 staff members and founders.

    • Therefore, from VeriPoll BETA live date of June 3, 2020 to Election Day Nov 3; that is $30,000 total to cover salary of all our staff.

  • Demographics Data: We have the capability and data to present demographic data on our voters. Which race, gender, income, etc voted for which candidate (Link). However, our staff does not have time to develop and test the algorithms and procedures to present this in a convenient manner.

    • About $1000 per staff to develop and test; $3000 total.

  • Advertising: VeriPoll would like to have a large and diverse sample size in order to more clearly represent how America will vote in the upcoming election. To gain these users, advertising would allow new users that are unaffiliated with VeriPoll's user base; giving a more accurate, well rounded picture of who may come out to the Polls on election day.

    • Facebook, Google, Microsoft/Bing, Twitter ads. Based on BETA pricing of $439.16 per 10 days. It would cost about $5270 to advertise until election day.

Future Goals:

After Election day, we plan on preparing for the 2024 Presidential Election. However, we would also like to develop and plan to do VeriPoll on the state level: Senate races, gubernatorial, mayoral races, etc. A generic number of $10,000 has been applied to the graphics to represent meeting the development of our future goals.

Current Financial Standings:

Any feedback is greatly appreciated and do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or requests!  If you are looking for specific data on financials, we are doing our best to be fully transparent and honest with our users. Feel free to reach out, and we can compile it for you!

The graphics below features our ongoing ad revenue as well as donations received. We will update this as donations come in and if Google gives our ad revenue back.
