Why VeriPoll?: In 2016, almost all of the polls for the Presidential race between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump listed Hillary Clinton as winning by double digit margins. Some polls even listed Hillary Clinton at a 98% chance of winning. Obviously, this didn't turn out as the Pollsters predicted, but why were they so drastically wrong? Who were they asking in their polls, and where were these polls being taken? It was very rare for a family member, friend, or coworkers to have been contacted by a pollster to participate in any national poll. Also, I specifically have never been asked to participate in a presidential poll. So, VeriPoll was developed to combat the misleading polls in the media and give everyone a chance to be involved.
VeriPoll was created to allow everyone the opportunity to have their voices heard in presidential election polls. We are committed to providing the most accurate and honest poll by giving all voters across the United States access to cast their votes. By verifying submitted information against voter records, the Verified Poll will be able to provide the most accurate, unbiased data without influence from outside sources that are unable to vote in US Elections.
How VeriPoll Works: VeriPoll takes the information the user provides and checks it against the respective state's voter registration website. If the Voter Status comes back as a successful match, the user's vote will then become "Verified" and will be counted as a Verified vote. Verification must be performed to provide the most accurate data possible. Verification lowers the probability of counting duplicate submissions, unregistered voters, and reduces the influence from outside sources that are unable to vote in US Elections.
VeriPoll allows multiple submissions to be placed by the same user. However, the database will flag it as a duplicate vote and will update the information of the user to the most recently submitted information.

DEFINITIONS AND EXPLANATIONS:
Verified: The information submitted by registered users must be verified before the vote counts as a “Verified” vote. The verification process will take up to 7 days from the time the user submits their Driver’s License ID Number or Voter Registration Number. Verification must be performed to provide the most accurate data possible. Verification lowers the probability of counting duplicate submissions, unregistered voters, and reduces the influence from outside sources that are unable to vote in US Elections.
Actual Results: The full actual results from this poll; unaltered. Depending on where this website gets its user traffic, the demographics could be one sided. For example, if this poll is shared more on Conservative websites and Social Media Accounts; there may be a user demographic of 90% Republican registered users. Therefore, this result may not be accurate, but may provide a good indicator of the dedication of each party, and who is more likely to vote at the polls. Contact for details.
Adjusted - Registered Results: To combat the inaccuracy of the “Actual” poll, the results will take the political party of nationally registered voters into consideration. The breakdown of registered voters and how each party voted in the previous presidential election will be used as a factor when calculating “Adjusted – Registered” results. *Under Construction, awaiting more data points. Contact for details.
Adjusted – Voted 2016 Results: To combat the inaccuracy of the “Actual” poll, the results will take 2016 Presidential Election Exit Polling into consideration. Many factors such as Age, Race, Education, Gender, Income, Party, etc. from 2016 Exit Polling will be used as factors when calculating “Adjusted – Voted 2016” results. *Under Construction, awaiting more data points. Contact for details.
District Disclaimer: Due to the verification process, Maine and Nebraska cannot be represented as different congressional districts. Therefore, the above data awards all electoral votes to the majority winner of the entire state. Contact for details.
Map Coloring Note: Lighter or faded coloring of states will be used if the candidate is winning by less than 5%. See Full Details.
